Project description
As part of the construction of a new recycling hall for the Lower Saxony waste disposal company Laresta GmbH & Co. KG, a crushing plant was to be enclosed. For this purpose, a dust-tight room measuring around 1,000 m² had to be created in the partially open hall measuring over 100 x 100 m, in which the crushing plant crushes and processes various bulk materials. The background to the project is the legal requirements for emission protection. The room must be completely enclosed when the machine is commissioned in order to prevent dust and potentially toxic substances from escaping during the crushing process.
The particular challenge of the project was, among other things, to almost completely seal off a room of this size and at the same time create a flexible passageway almost 30 metres wide with a movable gate system.
Solution
After detailed planning and consultation by HUESKER Synthetic GmbH in close cooperation with Möhlenkamp - Textile Systemlösungen and the hall constructor LG Industriebauservice, the client decided in favour of enclosing the crushing plant with segment nets (maximum size 12 x 35 m). Welded-on straps and ratchet/hook connections ensure that the textile façades can withstand even greater wind loads. The segment nets were hooked and tensioned to the left and right of the steel girder using the ratchets. In addition, the net tarpaulin was tensioned downwards onto the concrete wall through a grooved tube using further ratchets.
Two Tectura folding fronts measuring 30 metres wide x 12 metres high were installed as a mobile gate system. These make it possible to enter and exit the separate area of the crushing plant. Above the folding fronts, tensioning variants with all-round piping and piping rails were used for fastening. A total of around 1,700 m² of textile fabric was installed as dust protection. In order to ensure sufficient light incidence even when the hall was closed, the translucent PES-PVC 6.5 tarpaulin in black/transparent was chosen for all systems.
Benefits
One of the main reasons for using Tectura textile façades and segment nets was their lightweight construction. In contrast to conventional products, the load-bearing capacity of the hall is not affected. A special substructure is not required, as is the case with corrugated sheet metal constructions. In addition to the customised design, the quick and easy assembly and the ability to react flexibly to any structural changes were also convincing factors. Tectura folding fronts are an economical solution, particularly for large door openings with corresponding passage widths - in this case almost 30 metres - which also impress with their durability and robust technology.
